The wind looked really good first thing (20-25 knots and the sun was shining), but for a change I decided to wait a bit and go out once a few others had arrived. By 10am I couldn't wait any longer so headed over to the beach. The wind had dropped to around 16 knots so I rigged my big kit (5.6m sail and 90 ltr board) and got out there. It was a bit marginal to start with but soon filled back in and I had a good couple of hours blasting about amongst the big surf. Some of the waves out the back were massive, and I had some nice jumps and backside wave rides. A couple of other guys (from the Midlands were out windsurfing) and more and more kiters kept arriving at the beach until there was about 12 of them out. The wind kept picking up and the kiters all went in for a bit to change down / hide from the wind. Steve came out with his 5.3m but the weather turned squally with some mad overpowered moments in the squalls and some underpowerd lulls in between. I started packing up, just as Steve cam back excited as he had nearly landed a back-loop.

All in all a good day on the beach with some pretty hectic conditions.
